Day Two

I found this online and thought to myself: "Self that is one heluva good idea you must share this. It could save a lot of looking for containers to store stuff in the kitchen." My only tip to go with this picture is after you cut the tops off the bottles burn the edges carefully to keep the tops from cutting the bags. Another way to "soften" the edges is take an emery board to them and lightly file the edge. Hope this helps.

What you need:

  • Empty pop bottles
  • Snips, to cut tops off
  • Emery board for softening cut edges
  • Bags for storage
  • Anything you wish to store
What you do:

  1.  Cut the tops off the pop bottles.
  2.  Use your emery board to soften the edges.
  3.  Use these tops when you want to store things like beans (fresh or dried), put food stuff in bag, squeeze out the air if using fresh items, put the bag through the bottle neck and fold the sides down. Screw cap on and put your storage item away.
